Baby now 7 weeks

THE BABY IS 7 WEEKS OLD NOW!

I know most of us are very busy with summer trips, and activities. We haven't spent as much time on our computers, keeping in touch with each other. I miss everyone so much. But I have to share with you what we did this week, between picking up grand daughter at the airport (a four hour trip when you're on an island) and making jewelry like crazy for upcoming shows.

This is proud papa WH with the new little girl we finally got to meet. We haven't chosen a name yet, waiting for her to come home and see what she looks like.

She is a Havanese, which part Bichon, part Maltese I hear. They are the sweetest little doggies. They get to be about 12-14 lbs. Here is our wee one at 2.25 lbs. Bareley big enough to pet!
Now is this a face you could love or what?
She played with me, if you can imagine. Even at 7 weeks, they are already playing! It blows my mind how advanced they are at such an early age.

This is our grand daughter, in heaven! Her favorite thing on this earth are puppies, so she was a happy girl. We got to see about four of them, our little girl among them.

So continue having a wonderful summer, each of you. I apologize for being so absent this summer, just busy with life. We get to bring our little bundle home on Aug. 8th, I can't wait. We're getting the nursery all ready (okay, play pen and kennel). I'm reading all these dog training books like crazy, really feeling like I'm going to be a new mom! It's been so long since I've had to potty train, train, etc. Really looking forward to it! So I'll be absent awhile longer!
Take care my friends! Miss you all.

Riki, your little Havanese is ADORABLE. Just look at that sweet face and that look she already has in her eyes! :-) Reminds me of our Shih Tzu as a puppy...seems like yesterday and now he's almost 15. I hear you about not blogging so much and off enjoying life/summer. Have a great time with your Grand daughter. :-)

Hi Riki
She is definitely a cutie! When do you get to bring her home? Lola's pups are 9 weeks old now and they go "full steam ahead" when they play. We have decided to give Buddy to our oldest daughter for her birthday coming up - this way we could breed him with our other girl Minnie when he is older - I have a plan to save stud fees! He is also the smallest of the bunch and will stay small (his little legs are so short)
I am glad you found a little sweetheart - girls are so much easier to poddy train than boys! :)
Have fun with your granddaughter and have a great summer!

Hi Riki - Congratulations - you are opening your heart and home to another little sweet puppy - just adoreable and what a lucky little girl she will be to have someone so caring to watch over her. We should all be so lucky and blessed. I am glad that you are enjoying your Summer and that you are busy at the bench creating your lovely jewelry - like crazy! Hugs my friend - Julie

OK, Riki, I am sold. That is my next dog. I think that is the cutest dog face I have ever seen in my life and I have a couple of cute-faced dogs. This breed sounds fantastic. I am so glad you found her and hope she helps ease the pain of loosing Chester.
Hugs,
Suz

The cutest little pup! Good luck with the training. I've always been so terrible at it. Even with my kids. I remember one day I was involved in something and on her first day of potty training without diapers my daughter came to me and said, "I have to go potty." I had totally forgotten it was my job to be asking her! My kids grew up in spite of me. :-)

Oh dear sister,

She is just sooooo adorable and I can see little Chester had a hand in finding your new litl' buddy!! He would be so proud of ya mom!! ;)

I also must apologize for being such an absent bloglandian sister. Trying to keep up with life here and get ready for the trip to the northlands is taking up all my time. Thankfully I leave tomorrow so what isn't done isn't going to get done for this trip!!

Just saw your comment on Stephanie's Homesteader Metalsmithing class site and popped on over to say hi! We have an almost 7 month old Havanese - he's black and white and named Guinness. We got him at 8 weeks and he's a complete joy! Really a fun little guy with lots of personality! Enjoy your little sweetheart!
